A Cinderella story for the twenty-first century, Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball is a charming story about two mismatched people, destined for romance. It all starts in a quaint little bookstore on Sage Street where Cora Crowder hopes to find a gift for a co-worker and inadvertently runs into her supervisors’ supervisor, the handsome but much too serious Simon Derrick.

What ensues is a series of coincidences and unexplainable events that draw the two inexplicably together. Soon Cora is drawn into Simon’s family when she offers her ticket for the mysterious Wizards’ Christmas Ball to his special sister Sandy. A friend to everyone, Sandy will not be happy until she can ensure that Cora attends the Ball with them, despite the fact that additional tickets are not to be had.

Uncomfortable with the notion of spending time with her boss’s boss, Cora tries hard to keep their relationship professional and strictly about Sandy. But as the Ball draws near and Cora gets to know the kind, fun, and intelligent man Simon is, she can’t help but harbor hopes for something more. When Cora’s troubled sister shows up though, she could be the ruination of everything that has painstakingly brought them together.

Two Tickets to the Christmas Ball is a delightful if far fetched tale perfect for the Christmas season. You can view the trailer for this book here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lr3-m5YpQpU

I received this book free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group as part of their BloggingForBooks program. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.

  1. Thank you for the review, Wendi. I love the way you summarized the story without giving away plot points. It is a far-fetched tale and it was fun to write.
