Submerged (Alaskan Courage: Book One)
By Dani Pettrey
Published by Bethany House
If you’re looking for a fast paced adventure filled with romance and suspense, look no further. Submerged is the first novel in a new series called Alaskan Courage by Dani Pettrey and does not disappoint.
When Bailey Craig’s aunt dies in a plane crash, she’s not only crushed by the loss, but terrified to return to Yancey, the small town in Alaska where she once lived and hoped never to return. Wanting only to settle her aunts affairs and return home as quickly as possible, Bailey is unprepared for the feelings that are uncovered when she sees Cole again, or the dangerous mystery that begins to unfold in the quiet town.
Cole McKenna is pulled further and further into the investigation of the plane crash and other murders that are being uncovered. Even worse, he’s pulled Bailey into this mess, but she’s the only expert they have on Russian history. Besides, now that she’s back, he can’t seem to stop all the old feelings from resurfacing, and he can’t bare the thought of her leaving again.
As Cole and Bailey work together to unravel old secrets and a locate a rare and coveted treasure, they are unaware of how perilous their situation is becoming. Before they know it, the investigation puts not only Bailey and the McKenna family in mortal danger, but the whole town.
Pettrey’s writing style is thrilling and enthralling. Well developed primary and secondary characters, leave you hungry for more, and I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. As far as I’m concerned, it can’t come soon enough!
I received this book free from Bethany House Publishers as part of their book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
