The Reliance (Legacy of The King’s Pirates, #2)
By M.L. Tyndall
Published by Barbour
In this second novel in the Legacy of The King’s Pirates trilogy, Charlisse and Merrick are torn apart when a church bombing leads Merrick to believe Charlisee has been killed. Charlisse meanwhile, has been abducted by the menacing Captain Kent Carlton who has also kidnapped the young and beautiful Lady Isabel Ashton.
A tortured and despondent Merrick turns his back on God and reverts to pirating in his quest to revenge Charlisse’s death. Joining the cruel Captain Collier, Merrick turns one dark corner after the next as he struggles between the evil trying to overtake him and his shaken faith in a God who allowed his wife to be taken from him.
Strong and courageous Charlisse has her hands full escaping Captain Carlton, commandeering her husbands ship and searching for Merrick in the darkest of places. Yet when Charlisse finally finds Merrick, he is in the arms of another. What ensues is one ferocious battle after another as Charlisse staves off fearsome pirates, vows to leave her husband and tries to rescue Lady Ashton.
Tyndall’s novels are always fast-paced, riveting and emotionally charged; The Reliance is no exception. Tackling some incredibly difficult but very real scenarios, Tyndall writes with raw honesty and compassion. Overflowing with messages of trust, surrender, hope, faith and forgiveness, I can’t recommend this pirate series more highly.
